Boohoo City Guides

There’s so much to love about Boston! Born and raised a city girl, It’s exciting to see how much the city has changed over the years. So many new stores to shop at, restaurants to try, and boutiques to discover. There’s also a ton of new apartments popping up in the city and surrounding areas. People are finally starting to notice how exciting Boston is.My favorite time to be in the city is during the fall. The foliage here in the city and up north in New Hampshire, Maine, and Vermont is so beautiful.  If you ever plan to visit Boston in the future I would be happy to share some recommendations.  I’m excited to have teamed up with Boohoo to create a Boston City Guide. I’m sharing my favorite go-to restaurants, parks, and neighborhood. Thank you Boohoo for letting me share my favorite parts of Boston with my readers!

1. What neighborhood should people visit and why?

I’ve mentioned this a few times before in previous blog post but the South End is my favorite part of the city. It’s so relaxing and all of my favorite brunch spots are down there. The streets are filled with small boutiques too. If I ever had the chance to move to the South End I would in a heartbeat.

2. The best restaurant for foodies?

Barcelona wine bar is one of my favorite places. The tapas are absolutely delicious! The Brookline location is gorgeous and more spacious.

3. Favorite park?

The Public Garden is my favorite park in the city. The city keeps it so clean and beautiful year round. It’s the perfect spot to sit and eat a quick breakfast and drink some coffee with friends.

Weekend Instagram round-up

I was traveling all last week so I didn’t have the chance to post on the blog. I went to Paris with my boyfriend and I had the best time! The chocolate croissants were so delicious and the espresso strong. We spent every day walking around the streets admiring landmarks and the architecture. I fell in love with the Tuileries Garden and everything surrounding it. I left with an appreciation for perfectly-trimmed trees as you can see on my Instagram. The weather was perfect so it made walking around Paris that much easier.

One of the most beautiful parts of my trip was walking along the Seine with my boyfriend. The river is gorgeous and Parisians love to sit there and hang out. I still can’t believe I’m home, back to work and reality. I wanted to put together a weekend Instagram round up of my trip. Some of the pictures are from my iPhone and others from my camera. Follow me on Instagram to see more! Also I made these yummy pumpkin bars this weekend. I found the recipe on Pinterest and it’s really easy to make. It says to make homemade frosting but I bought vanilla frosting and used that. (don’t judge me) !

Sweater: Primark

I’ve met a few people who tell me they love opening their windows in the fall because they sleep better that way. I do NOT like to be cold!! I love snuggling up in blankets and sweaters during the fall/winter months.  I feel bad for anyone who has to touch me during the winter because my hands are like icicles. I’m currently on the hunt for new chunky sweaters and new places to buy them. Once you get in a routine and find the right stores to buy your clothes from it’s so hard to break that habit. Fall has finally set in and it came out of nowhere. I’ll be honest and say I wasn’t prepared at all. I felt that cold breeze and looked at the calendar and saw that October was here. Where did the year go?

Asos is my favorite online retailer so naturally half of my closet is packed with clothes from there. The point is I need somewhere new to buy my fall clothes! Even though I frequently shop at H&M, there’s a large selection of  sweaters to choose from so I can always depend on that store. This chunky pink sweater looks so warm and cozy. I love thick turtlenecks so I can snuggle my face inside. I don’t shop at Free People but I really like this chunky sweater too. Where do you guys like to pick up your fall clothes? Leave some suggestions in the comments.

This weather is beautiful, isn’t it! I’m in love with this cool fall breeze because I can finally wear my boots. I never know what to expect with this weather but since October is next week, I know I’ll be wearing my boots constantly. I kept a few of my boots in good shape so I don’t need to buy a ton of new shoes. One of my favorite things to do is go shoe shopping so why not dedicate a blog post to the top five shoes I want right now. Click the ShopStyle links below to browse.

Next week I head back to Paris!!! YAY!!!  These Asos boots are coming with me on the trip. Comfortable travel shoes are a necessity when you plan on walking around during your vacation. Where are some of your favorite places to buy fall shoes? I like DSW, Asos, and Loft. Also, if you guys have any restaurant or bar recommendations for my trip I would love them!

Currently Craving- Fall edition

1.Coach shearling coat  2. Silk Pajama Top 3. Blanket Cape  4. Ankle Booties   5. Tan Slides 6. Check Square Scarf

I love writing my currently craving series because 1. I want every single thing I put on the list and 2. It makes me SO happy to start a new season and find new fashion trends. Right now I really want a shearling coat like this one from Coach. You would assume shearling is heavy and weighs down your shoulders but this coat is the complete opposite. It’s very light and warm, perfect for winter in Boston. I kind of want to buy a silk pajama top like this one from the J.Crew fall collection. People always gravitate towards dark colors during the fall but I like the Warm Almond color the most. I’m not sure if I can pull the look off but it doesn’t hurt to try.

I have one cape from Asos and I want to add another so it won’t be so lonely in my closet. This plaid blanket cape from The Gap might be the perfect addition to my fall collection. I love that the cape comes with a belt so I don’t have to constantly adjust it.  I need to buy all new shoes for this season, Sole Society has an affordable selection of fall booties. When I buy fall/winter shoes I wear them until they break. That’s not really a bad thing because it’s money well spent. I really like the tan ankle booties in taupe. Lastly, I’m eyeing these  Kristin Cavallari slides in tan! Which one do you guys like best? Tell me and I might end up buying it – LOL!

I love that in-between time when it feels like summer is never going to end. But it’s also annoying when you can’t figure out what to wear because you already started buying cardigans and new jeans. Loft recently had a sale so I picked up some cute sweaters that work for this weird weather. I bought this tasseled tunic sweater and a crochet striped sweater. My jeans and shoes are from Zara.  I’m normally a straight leg jean type of girl but during the summer they were becoming a pain to wear.

The thing I really love about simple looks is how comfortable you are. I also feel more like myself when I’m dressed like this. When I was younger I cared about how I looked when I would go out and I would always want to impress the crowd. Now I could care less about what people think about my outfit and how I look. I don’t get dressed for anyone but myself and I love it. Self-confidence is everything and once you feel comfortable in your skin you’ll be ok. Anyway, I hope you guys have a great week!!!

Fall Shopping

Dress: Asos, Shoes: Kate Spade

This Labor day weekend consisted of Netflix and comfortable clothes. I also did a little fall shopping in the city too. I love holiday weekends because everyone is out of town and tourist aren’t crowding the stores and streets. I stopped in Nordstrom Rack and Gap to pick up some necessary fall staples. I like to do my seasonal shopping in small batches so I can put the outfits together in my head. I have to make sure all of my clothes match up with a majority of my shoes and purses. A few weeks ago I bought this swing dress from Asos for $20. They always have sales and this is the best time to grab some fall items from their website. Below are a few of my favorite fall picks from Asos right now.

Always on time

JORD Wood WatchJord Wood watchJORD wood watchJORD wood watchJORD wood watchAs  a child,  my parents would wake up around 5am to get ready for work. Twenty something years later that routine hasn’t changed. They still wake up early to get ready for the day.  I personally don’t like waking up early but when I need to be somewhere I’m always on time, no questions asked. When I was younger I thought having a watch would help me with time management. Unfortunately, my wrist is small so I couldn’t  wear a watch on a daily basis without it sliding off my hand. I had a few watches in middle school but I immediately lost interest when I had to keep poking holes in the band so it could fit.

A few years ago I started to appreciate watches more and now I wear one every single day. I feel incomplete when I forget my watch at home. At the moment I’m really into my new  JORD Wood watch .  When I first saw the Fieldcrest Green Sandalwood watch I really liked how clean it looked and the packaging is pretty cool too. I knew the color and style would work perfectly with my chunky knit sweaters and leather jacket in the fall. Wood watches have become extremely popular this season and I can see them getting more popular as the seasons go by.

I teamed up with JORD for this fun giveaway. The winner will receive a $75 e-voucher and everyone who enters will receive a 20 e-gift card (excluding the winner). Click the link below to enter the giveaway and good luck!

En Route to brunch

forever 21 dressforever 21 dressforever 21 dressforever 21 dressforever 21 dressLet me start this post off by saying I love a good weekend brunch. I live for a great breakfast and some hot coffee (with almond milk of course). For such a tiny person I know how to eat and I have no shame in that. Sometimes I’ll even eat a snack before my meal or while I’m preparing dinner. You get it I love food… I wanted to share a few of my favorite brunch places in Boston for all of the readers who aren’t from this area. I personally like going to the South End for brunch.

My favorite spot is South End Buttery on Shawmut Ave. Their garlic parm fries are the best thing I have ever tasted in my life. The whole atmosphere of the restaurant is very relaxing and photos of dogs are placed throughout the space. The weekends are very hectic so reserving a spot for brunch is necessary. Tremont 647 is another spot I love. Their brunch and dinner are absolutely delicious. Every time I go here I’m never disappointed. Also, they have a tasty fried chicken meal my boyfriend and I are obsessed with.

One weekend I tried to eat at Stephi’s on Tremont and it was full. So I crossed the street and had brunch at Metropolis. Since then I’ve grown to love the place and the diner like feel it has going on. *side note* Can I fill you guys in on something? So a few weeks ago I tried to use this face wash and moisturizer, I won’t say the brand but my face broke out TERRIBLY! If you find a beauty routine and products don’t ever switch it up. For about a year I’ve used Glossier cleanser and coconut oil I get from Amazon. Anyways… I would love to meet people who are obsessed with brunch like me? What are some of your favorite brunch spots around the U.S or wherever you may be?!

Currently Craving

Two weeks until September and it’s so crazy to think how fast the summer months have gone by. Designers have released their fall campaigns and websites have started selling fall clothes. I’m excited to shop for new leather booties and chunky knit sweaters. I really like the Fendi ankle booties the most. They’re casual and look super comfortable. I’m really starting to fall in love with Need Supply Co.  Their website is so simple and clean and the items they sell really stand out to me. Their new fall arrivals are gorgeous too! What are some of your favorite place to shop during the fall? I love Zara, Old Navy, Gap, Banana Republic and H&M.  Check out some of my favorite pieces below. Hope you enjoy!
