Looks for a holiday party

I want to throw a Christmas party this year so I thought this would be a great time to showcase some fun holiday looks. J.Jill sent me this dress along with some other winter goodies and I thought it would be perfect to wear to a party! Dress it up with some accessories like these tassel earrings from H&M and some heels. I’ve had these Vince heels forever and they match perfectly with the dress. I linked some affordable dress options below just in case you’re looking for something cute to wear to a work holiday party or to a party of your own. I also linked my J.Jill dress below too. I’m wearing a size small and it’s still a little big on me. My shoes are Vince but I bought them at Nordstrom rack on sale.

I read this blog post on Paperless Post about picking the perfect date for a holiday party and many other tips and tricks for throwing the perfect party. I have never hosted a party at my apartment so I’m excited to put it together. Click here to read the article! Here are some tips in the meantime. Do you have any tips to share when it comes to preparing for a holiday party? Let me know in the comments below.

1.Friday or Saturday nights are best around 8 or 9 pm.

3. Make sure to get the invite list done early. Facebook event pages are the best.

4. Set the food and drink menu and find something fun to make on Pinterest like a holiday dessert.

5. Find the perfect outfit. Wear a comfortable dress and heels so you can easily make your way around the party. Check out my picks above to find the perfect dress.

Things I want for cyber monday

Hi everyone! I looked through a few of my favorite websites and put together some items that I want this Cyber Monday. First up are the clothes of course. I know these stores will have awesome Cyber Monday deals so I wanted to link some cute winter items like jackets, off the shoulder sweaters, and denim. The Forever 21 jacket below is perfect for a casual outfit with some booties and a chunky sweater.  It’s only $37.90 so I know this item will sell out super fast. The red jeans from H&M are also a favorite. I don’t have colorful denim and my boyfriend put the idea in my head to invest in a few pieces. That chunky scarf from Express is everywhere and I NEED that pink one. Isn’t it perfect?

The Shein makeup bags are adorable and great for traveling. I have a cosmetics bag from IT Cosmetics but I could always use more. The eyelash bags are my favorite and they’re $6 dollars, you won’t find that anywhere else. I also added Uniqlo slippers because you could never have enough slippers at home. The tasseled Baublebar earrings are a must for your New Years Eve outfit and they are on sale too. Let me know which item is your favorite. Feel free to click the links directly and shop this page. I made sure to add some affordable deals

weekly roundup

Welcome back to my weekly roundup series. It’s been a while but I have some fun things to share with you guys. First off let’s talk about how we just skipped fall here in Boston and jumped right into winter. I will not be shocked if I wake up to snow on the ground soon. I’m looking forward to Thanksgiving and Christmas I love the holidays! The decor and all of the food, I can’t wait to have a full belly and to be surrounded by family.

1. Beauty updates

-I received some packages from Patchology and a brand called L’Bri. I love skincare so I was so excited to open all of this. Patchology sent over a new sleep mask moisturizer to put on after you get out of the shower. I woke up and my skin was soft and smooth! L’bri reached out to me to send over some products for me to try. Of course, I was open to trying new products and discovering new brands. As soon as I got the package I used the face and body scrub along with the body wash. First impressions were amazing. The face scrub smelled a little off but it made my face and body feel really soft. The body wash smells like cucumber and it was my favorite along with the cucumber body butter. I used it with a loofa they put inside the package so it was a great shower. I haven’t tried the face products yet but I’ll make sure to put it in a review soon.

2. Inspiration

Rachel Parcell is the blogger and businesswoman behind Pink Peonies and her clothing brand The Everyday Shop. I catch up with her post daily and she recently sat down with Forbes to talk about her success! Read the article here.

3. Career

“I can’t go a day without failing. I think where I thrive is knowing I’m not gonna make that mistake the same way again.” – Issa Rae

8 inspiring woman share their career advice at Create & Cultivate- Article from Refinery 29

4. Food!

Pinterest is my favorite place for DIY food recipes! I found this Twix Cookie recipe and I have to make them because I LOVE TWIX! It’s my favorite candy bar ever.

Statement earrings

I love to add some drama to my outfits and I felt like these earrings from Primark were the perfect thing my outfit needed. I was heading to an event so I wanted to keep my outfit casual. I wore my red J.Crew turtleneck, Forever 21 skinny jeans, and my tan loafers from Zara. My Primark earrings made this outfit pop and I’m glad I have these in my jewelry collection. They were only $3.50 so of course, I bought some other things while I was there. It’s not hard to rack up a bill at Primark since the prices are so great.

I have a cart full of Bauble Bar earrings online and I want to press complete order but I figured I would wait for a huge Black Friday sale to happen. Baublebar released these earring gift sets and I’m in LOVE! It’s a perfect holiday gift for your girlfriends who love accessories. My favorite gift sets are this one and this one! At first, these earrings look SO extra but trust me they are perfection. I had a pair that I loved but my dog ruined them, UGHH! I think everyone should get themselves some statement earrings. I promise you’ll love how they make you feel. I linked some options below!

Step by step skincare routine with Clarisonic

*This post is in collaboration with Clarisonic. All opinions are my own*

Over the past few weeks, I have used the Clarisonic Mia 1 in my skincare routine. I purchased a Clarisonic a few years ago and I was really satisfied with the results and I recommended it to all of my friends. I was really happy to partner with Clarisonic to show my readers my current skincare routine. I’ve used my Clarisonic Mia 1 for a few weeks now and I wanted to share my honest opinion with you guys! The first few days I used the Mia 1 along with a cleanser that came in the package to see how my face would react.

In about two days I stopped using the cleanser that came with the Clarisonic because my skin started to break out. Instead, I used my First Aid Beauty cleanser and followed up with the First Aid Beauty moisturizer. I have very sensitive skin so I should’ve never risked it!  The First Aid Beauty cleanser is gentle enough for me. Clarisonic feels so good to use after a long work day and your skin feels oily and dirty. I was fortunate enough to get two different brush heads to try out. I received the acne brush head and the deep pore cleansing brush head. Her Campus is running a promo that gives you %15 off all devices featured here. Use the code HERCAMPUS to receive this promo. What do you guys use in your skincare routine? I’m always looking for new stuff to try so I would love recommendations!

Favorite pins pt.9 – Velvet

1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6

Omg, it’s November! I really can’t believe there’s one month left of 2017! After the 4th of July time just flies by for me. Do you guys feel that way or is it just me? Summer seems so far away now but it’s finally getting somewhat cool here. So let’s whip out those coats and sweaters and finally embrace this fall weather. I wanted to start this month with part 9 of my favorite pins series which is my absolute favorite. I love sharing trends I’m feeling right now with my readers.

This post was inspired by a velvet top I received from the J.Jill team that I will be shooting soon along with some other things. I’m really into this trend right now so I wanted to put together a collage of my favorite picks I found on Pinterest. Follow my board here to see other things I pinned. How do you feel about velvet right now? From what I’ve seen some people love it and some people are on the fence. Let me know in the comments below! Also if there’s anything I should check out this season feel free to share that also. I’m always looking for new things to wear.

J.Jill Fall October Collection Review

*I received the J.Jill October collection as a gift. All opinions are my own*

Photography: Pixel Moving Company

As soon as I felt a cool breeze in the morning I did not hesitate to throw on my new Haley Textured Topper J.Jill Cardigan. I’m so excited to show you guys what I received from the new J.Jill October collection. I ordered this cardigan and The Callie boatneck sweater in a medium because I like them a little loose. I also received this quilted down coat as well and it’s my favorite. I’m so happy I finally have a coat like this to wear during the fall months. My favorite part about this collection is that everything is so warm and comfortable. I’ve worn every piece multiple times and I’m going to keep wearing everything.

The cardigan almost reaches my ankles and it’s perfect to wear around the house in your pj’s. I’ve never owned a boat neck sweater before so I was a little nervous about how I would like it. It’s definitely strange at first but I’m starting to become a fan of the style. I own so many turtleneck sweaters so it was nice to have a different style to wear. This is my first time owning something from J.Jill and I’m very happy with the quality and the style. It’s very relaxed and comfortable but you can still dress it up. I like that they’re catering to younger women now and I think the company is doing a great job! I just received the November collection in the mail so I’ll be shooting that soon. Shop the post below!

Styling your outfits with Jord Wood Watches

Photography: Pixel Moving Company

One of my (many) favorite things about fall is men’s fashion. My boyfriend has really nice fall clothes and I’ve always been slightly envious. All of his sweaters and button-down shirts basically define fall. For this post, I’ve teamed up with Jord Wood Watches once again to host a giveaway and feature a fall look for the guys out there. My boyfriend received the Hyde watch in walnut and black and he loves it. I’m so happy when I see people wearing gifts I got them. It makes me feel like I’m really good at gift giving when in reality I’m actually really bad, ha!

He’s worn it a few times already and it’s totally his style. I’ve never posted about men’s fashion but Nick put together a flay lay featuring his Frank and Oak sweater top, Kohl’s jeans, and Nikes. I made one too with my H&M chunky knit top, Uniqlo leggings and Boohoo booties. To participate in the giveaway fill out the form here. Every person who enters has the chance to win $100 gift code to use on the JORD website. Only one person will win but everyone will receive a code worth $25 once the contest ends. Now that the holidays are approaching this would be a great gift to give someone who loves unique watches. Look through the collection here

*Contest ends 10/29*

Weekly roundup

Another week has ended and it’s time to share some of my favorite moments from this week and some from the last few weeks. I hope everyone had a great week and you have fun fall activities planned for this weekend. Sidenote.. I really want to go apple picking this year since I’ve never had the chance to go. Yeah I know, I live in New England and I’ve never gone apple picking. I’m seriously envious of the people who are posing on Instagram in their cute outfits! Don’t worry I’ll be there soon!

1. Solange at the Orpheum

On 9/28 I saw Solange at the Orpheum theater and I was so excited to finally see her live since she cancelled her Boston Calling performance. Someone from work gave me a free ticket in the balcony and I couldn’t refuse. She was amazing live and her voice is incredible. I felt weird at first because I’ve never gone to a concert alone but I didn’t even care I was so into watching her sing and dance I didn’t notice anything else around me.

2.Skincare routine as of lately

I received a few gifts from brands I’m partnering with so I’m trying out a new fall skincare routine. In the morning I use my Clarisonic Mia 1  with a cleanser that comes with the product. After I use my Thayer’s lavender witch hazel toner to get the extra dirt off my face and to open up my pores. Lastly, I use my L’occitane face cream called Divine Cream and it’s so great.

3. Doughnuts

I’m getting into the spirit of Fall so I made apple cider and pumpkin doughnuts! They were so good. The apple cider doughnuts were gluten-free and they went perfectly with coffee.

4. J.Jill Fall Collection

J.Jill sent me their fall collection and it’s full of fun fall pieces. They are starting to cater to younger women now and their pieces have become more versatile.  Click the link above to shop the collection. In a few weeks I will be receiving the November collection. I’ll be putting together a fall fashion haul from J.Jill very soon.

5. Paris Fashion Week Street Style

I can always depend on The Cut to keep me up to date on Street style. Paris Fashion week is my favorite and if you know me then you would know I love everything about Paris. Here are some of my favorite street style looks. All photos by Nabile Quenum.
