Loft lemon dress

Dress: Loft (size small), Shoes: Asos

Photography: Nick Carter

Summer isn’t over for me. I refuse to believe that it’s August and in a few weeks September will be here. I bought a few sweaters during my trip to Toronto because it was so cold up there! But I knew I had to take full advantage of this dress before it was too late. I stopped by the Market Street Lynnfield Outlets with my mom a few weeks ago and of course, we went into Loft. We always seem to find our way into a Loft store and we always leave with something new. My style has definitely changed over the past few months, I’m really into the preppy look right now and I’m not sure why. Loft sizes run really small so I got this dress in a size two. I’m normally a size 4-6 depending on the store. So make sure to try the dresses on before you purchase. My Asos shoes are a size 8. The shoe sizing at Asos is also kind of strange so I always get a size up just to be careful.

I never thought I would be able to pull off a dress with lemons on it but I really love this look! It’s so fun and colorful. You’re the best Loft! I can’t wait to see what the Fall/Winter collection looks like.

What I Wore: Primark Skirt

Top: Loft, Skirt: Primark, Heel: Asos

Photography: Nick Carter

These photos were taken on a really really humid day here in Boston. Even an outfit like this was too much! But I love this skirt and I wanted to share it. I purchased it from Primark a year ago and it’s still in good shape. Happy Friday everyone!

Favorite Pins pt.9 – Gingham

I purchased a gingham dress a few months ago and it just didn’t look great on me at all. I get so envious when I see people wearing the print and it just works for them. I put together some of my favorite looks from my Pinterest person style board. I really want to buy the pants in image 6 for the fall and blazer in image 1. I think I might give this look a try again in the fall. This summer I’m really into bold prints and bright colors.

I eventually need to stop buying summer clothes and look into transitioning my closet. I can picture myself wearing the pants in image 6 with a lightweight sweater and cute loafers. And I’ll probably pair the outfit with some accessories from Baublebar. Which item is your favorite? Let me know in the comments below.

Summer nails

nail polish purchased from Walgreens, Jumpsuit: Marshalls

Photography: Nick Carter

Hi, Everyone! I wanted to share how much I love the nail polish brand Sinful Colors. I started to use Sinful Colors a few years ago when I was shopping for random items at Walgreens. The nail polish is $1.99 and it’s just as good as nail brands like OPI and Essie. I stopped paying for manicures and pedicures a while ago so now I do everything myself at home

I’ve worn all three colors but my favorite has to be yellow first pink second. The blue is filled with glitter and that isn’t my thing.  All three colors cost $5 and that’s a great deal.  There’s something so refreshing about a fresh manicure, I feel so put together.  For my cuticles and nails, I use the Burt’s Bees Tips and Toes Kit. The tips and toes kit is the best thing to use on your hands and feet and it’s only $11.41 on Amazon.  This is the best money saving tip for anyone who loves to pamper themselves. Honestly, it’s taken me a while to make my manicures look decent but with some practice, they’ll look amazing!

Thrifting with Savers

I was provided compensation to shop at a Local Savers store. All opinions are my own*

Thrifting is a fun and I will always take the opportunity to shop for great clothes at discounted prices. Savers recently released its 2017 State of Reuse report examining perceptions around clothing consumption and reuse. 63% of Boston respondents admitted that they still throw their clothes away in the trash. Which is 9% higher than the national average. That blows my mind! Unless the clothing is destroyed you should always donate! My boyfriend and I just dropped off a ton of old clothes and bags to Savers recently. The sidewalk outside of the store was filled with donations.

Donating is a great way to give back to your community. You can always help a family in need. I bought these two dresses and this white top at savers and I spent about $25. What are some of your favorite stores to thrift shop at?  Let me know in the comments below!

4th of July Treats-Caramel Latte Pops

Hi, everyone! Welcome back to my DIY series. I made Caramel Latte Pops which would be perfect to serve at 4th of July Parties for a quick caffeine fix. Feel free to drizzle caramel syrup on top for extra flavor. I followed a recipe from the Chocolate Moosey Blog. I substituted Silk Caramel Almond Creamer and used Coffee Mate- Natural Bliss Caramel Almond milk creamer. Feel free to use less sugar based on your taste. All of the holiday decorations are from Walmart. I’ve never made popsicles before, it’s so fun to see the end result.  These molds cost $6.99 on Amazon when I purchased it but they have gone up in price. But you can find cheap ones if you keep searching. What do you guys think? Would you try these? Let me know in the comments.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup espresso or strong coffee (I used espresso)
  • 1/2 cup Coffee Mate- Natural Bliss Caramel Almond Creamer
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar (or to taste)
  • Caramel Syrup

What I Wore: Yellow Lace Dress

Dress: Marshalls, Shoes: Marshalls

Photography: Nick Carter

My perfect summer weekend outfit includes a lightweight dress, sandals, and simple accessories. Since this heat wave isn’t breaking I’ll keep this dress streak going and post this new lace dress I bought on my birthday.  I wore it for the first time to the garden party at the Isabella Stewart Gardner museum which was the perfect place for it. Third Thursdays is all about live music, drinks, and a chance to view the beautiful art Isabella Stewart Gardner collected. Her history is amazing and if you ever get the chance to visit I’m sure you’ll fall in love.

I also bought these lace up sandals in the clearance section for $13, the brand is Zigi Soho. I linked some similar styles below. I read on Whowhatwear.com that yellow is a hot summer trend right now so I guess I’m already on board.  A few other trends include all white outfits, cat-eye sunglasses, and basket bags. What’s your favorite summer trend right now? Let me know in the comments below?

Staying true to your brand

Dress: H&M, Shoes: DSW

I’ve read a few articles lately about Instagram Bots boosting people’s social media egos. This New York Times article published on June 6th talks about how people purchase these services that automatically like, comment, and follow users for you. I know this has been an issue for a while now, but the fact that it’s still happening is very concerning.  Your social media presence should be authentic. In the past year, I’ve learned to stay true to yourself and your brand. Of course, we all want thousands of followers to love your work, but what happened to influencers growing their following organically?

I have a decent following and I’m happy people even care to follow my social accounts. I’ll always stay true to who I am and post about things I truly care about. The moral of this post is to always be yourself no matter what. On another note let’s talk about my outfit! This mustard color dress is from H&M from a few years ago. Their workwear collection is my favorite and the material is great.  My heels are from DSW obviously because half of my shoes are from there. Thanks for reading guys. Make sure to comment and tell me what you think!

Summer Sandals- Loeffler Randall

Loeffler Randall Coco high heel knot slide

  Loeffler Randall Vera Ruffle Slide

Images from the Loeffler Randall Website

If you’re looking to purchase new summer sandal,  Loeffler Randall is a great brand to look into. The Coco high heel knot slide in watermelon pink is number one on my wish list and number two is the Vera Ruffle slide in woven indigo. I’m a huge fan of the woven indigo and the ruffles are a cute statement piece on the shoe. The Loeffler Randall team was inspired by the Mossi cloth for the denim vera ruffle slide. Which is indigo-dyed cloth crafted by the Mossi people of Burkina Faso, a landlocked country in West Africa.

Due to how scarce the cloth is there’s a small amount left so the only cloth available is vintage. My favorite part about this shoe is the amount of detail that went into creating it. Loeffler Randall really cares about quality and customer experience. A unique and rare material is one way to show customer appreciation. I fell in love with slides when I watched Sex and The City. Carrie was always strutting around in Prada slides and I was obsessed. Which one is your favorite? Tell me in the comments below!
