I’m now a huge advocate for traveling in order to get the ultimate relaxation experience. Sometimes you just need to hit reset. My boyfriend and I booked this trip a few months ago because we both needed some R&R. Flying into the Punta Cana airport was such a cool experience. Seeing all the huts and open space prepared me for the trip. Our ride from the airport to the resort was super smooth which made that 4 hour layover in Charlotte seem non-existent.
Upon arrival arrival we were greeted with the resort’s signature drink called Ocean Blue. It was a little too sweet for me so I switched a rum and coke, simple. This was my first time in the Caribbean and everything about it was amazing. At times the place was quiet, then in the afternoon when all the activities would start and the DJ played music things started to pick up. Half of my day was spent in a bathing suit and a beach cover-up. And at night I slipped into outfits from Zara and Pinkyotto, but most of the time I just threw on my gym clothing.
My go to beauty products included my Shea Moisture style milk, Bio Oil, sunscreen, and Nude perfect cleanse nourishing cleansing oil. The sun did some damage to my hair and the style milk was a quick fix for the much needed moisture it needed. Bio Oil is part of my everyday routine and I apply it to my face after I’m done with the Nude oil. Being on vacation halts your beauty routine so as I soon as I returned home I ran for the Clarisonic and scrubbed my face clean. I can’t find the right words to describe how perfect the beach was. Despite my hatred for waking up early, my boyfriend managed to get me out of bed in time to see the sunrise. It was beautiful to see it peak through the clouds. If I could I would go back and do it all over again.
