College Fashion week with Primark & Fall shopping haul

*This is a sponsored post with Primark. All opinions are my own*

This was my first time attending College Fashion week here in Boston and it was a fun experience to be around the sponsors and meet some new blogger friends. I wish I had the opportunity to do this when I was in college because I was able to speak with the students about their dreams and what inspires them when it comes to fashion. It’s always interesting to hear another students perspective on school, especially if they’re younger than you.

I was so excited to partner with College Fashion Weeks sponsor Primark! When Primark arrived in the U.S I was there on opening night. The clothing is so affordable and trendy. Every time I step in the store there’s something new on the racks.  I have such a hard time with clothes ripping in the washing machine and nothing from Primark has been destroyed yet (knock on wood)!!  I wanted to put together a fall fashion haul and show you what I picked up this season. Primark has a vast collection of new arrivals right now so this is a great opportunity to add some new pieces to your wardrobe.

The best thing about this store is that you’re not breaking the bank on clothing. Anytime you see someone leaving the store they have multiple bags in their hands. Seriously, you can’t leave with just one bag. This fall I’m going for very light colors and not the typical dark hues. I purchased a pink cardigan and a chunky blue sweater so far. I still have money left on my gift card so I will be going back to get more. All of the images below are similar to my Primark options. Shop away!

4 Days in Nashville

Nashville was never on my list of places to visit but I guess there’s a first time for everything right? I heard the food was delicious and the live music was great so I knew I should give it a chance before judging.  And I love southern food so I was ready to eat every single day. 4 days was enough time to see all of the tourist spots, try some restaurants, and visit some cool bars. We left on a Thursday morning at 8 am so Nick and I had plenty of time to eat breakfast and explore a little bit before our friends got there. Scroll down to see the stops on my trip!

Food, Drink & Air BnB

Nick and I started off the day at Biscuit Love and we split the East Nasty which is fried chicken on a biscuit smothered in sausage gravy. It was DELICIOUS!! While we waited for our friends we stopped by Peg leg Porker for food and a quick drink. Nick got the half rack of ribs and I got the BBQ Nachos covered in pulled pork and slaw. By this time our stomachs were so full we had to take a break. We checked into our Air BnB and relaxed for a bit before we hit the city to explore.

Later that night we went to L.A Jackson on the Thompson Hotel rooftop. We ate AGAIN and had tasty cocktails. The menu was a little pricey but you should expect that in a popular place like Nashville. The vibe was a mix of casual and dressy so you can show up wearing whatever. I really liked this spot and the view of the city from the rooftop.

Another stop on our food list was Tavern.  A gastro pub that serves small plates so I ordered the Philly cheese steak egg rolls with garlic parmesan french fries on the side. This place was a little pricey but the food was amazing. Honestly, every single place we went to for a meal was delicious. Swett’s was by far my favorite place though. It was definitely a small neighborhood spot with soul food. Collard greens, yams, cornbread.. You name it, they had it. I loved the vibe of the restaurant because it wasn’t near any tourist spots.

Saint Anejo was a brunch spot we stopped by on Sunday afternoon. I was so full by Sunday that I couldn’t really finish the meal I ordered here. But the little bites I did take were fantastic.

We went to  Rudy’s Jazz Room on our last night and this was my favorite stop on our trip. This was my first jazz club experience and I was in love with everything. The place was so relaxing and the music was beautiful. If you’re planning a trip to Nashville soon please stop by Rudy’s. You need to experience this place. They also serve gumbo and according to Nick it was really good!

Stay

Air bnb – Stay Alfred

The air bnb was very spacious and it had two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a living room area. We stayed in an area called the Gulch which was very close to all of the tourist spots and all of the restaurants we ate at. We had to call an Uber a few times to restaurants that were a little bit out of the way but other than that we walked everywhere. I really liked this Airbnb I thought it was a cool experience.

Coffee

Frothy Monkey

This coffee shop was located on 12 South in Nashville and it was a little spot hidden in the trees. I don’t remember the name of the iced coffee I had but it tasted like coconut and it was delicious.  We stopped here before we went into the Draper James store and Five Daughters Bakery.

Barista Parlor

This is by far the best coffee I’ve had in a very long time. The coffee paired so well with their almond milk. It was so smooth it seemed unreal. The wait was a little long because the baristas were very particular about how they make their coffee but it was worth the wait. I went twice while I was in Nashville and it wasn’t enough. I miss their coffee so much!

Mornings with McCafé Espresso

*This is a sponsored post with McDonald’s*

Photography: Pixel Moving Company

I start every morning with coffee because it’s the easiest way for me to wake up. I start my coffee pot in the morning before my shower so when I get out my kitchen is filled with the scent. Some days I need an extra kick so I’ll get something with a ton of espresso in it. That instantly wakes me up and I’m good to go for the rest of the day.  Coffee and espresso just work better for me in the mornings (sorry tea lovers).  McDonald’s is relaunching the McCafé experience with new café-quality espresso beverages which includes

Caramel Macchiato

Cappuccino

Americano

Pumpkin Spice Latte (for a limited time only)

To celebrate this relaunch, McDonald’s is offering any small McCafé beverage for $2 (limited time only). You can also get any size hot or medium iced McCafé coffee or just $1! Now you can start each morning with a delicious and affordable drink without spending a lot of money. In my last post about saving money I talked about buying coffee everyday and how that can burn a hole in your pocket but with a deal like this it’s such a steal. What are you waiting for? Go to McDonald’s!!!

Weekly roundup

We’ve made it to Friday so it’s time for my 2nd installment of weekly roundup. I got back from Nashville last Sunday and I’m still tired. Coming back from a trip and jumping back into your regular schedule is the hardest. I do miss all of the food we had there and the biscuits, OH MY GOD THE BISCUITS! I can’t even explain how good they were. I’m really starting to like these weekly roundup post. It gives me an excuse to talk about fashion and lifestyle all the time!

1.Taste of Seaport

Anything involving food and drinks I’m going to show up for. I had the opportunity to try samples from restaurants in the Seaport area like Sweetgreen, Strega Waterfront, Sapore restaurant and bar, Wagamama and many more. Wagamama had this beef brisket sample that was OUT OF THIS WORLD! And By Chloe, your ice cream and chocolate chip cookies were absolutely delicious.

2.Nina Garcia is the new EIC of Elle Magazine

Hearst announced this news on Tuesday the 12th. She was the creative director for Elle so I’m excited to see how she can take this magazine to the next level.

3.Media Companies are realizing they NEED social media influencers

Editors and publishing houses did not want to hop on board with the Influencer trend a while ago. Now they’re embracing what Influencers can do for their business. Micro-influencers are also taking over the industry. Their smaller audience tends to have more of an impact on readers which leads to better engagement.

4.College Fashion Week

I’m headed to College fashion week this weekend and I got the chance to treat myself to a fall fashion haul which was a gift from Primark. I’m completely set on fall clothing this season and I couldn’t be happier.

5. Weekend sales!

This weekend Loft is having a sale with items up to 40% off. Check out my picks down below.

6.  The best street style from NYFW – Images from The Cut

I enjoyed keeping up with NYFW this year. The weather was beautiful so people really went all out when it came to their outfit choices. The Cut has a great slideshow of Street Style outfits. The photo below is of Tiffany Hsu

Weekly roundup

Hi, everyone! I hope your week was amazing. I love short weeks but they also confuse me because I’m always a day behind. I can’t complain though because it’s fashion week and I’m keeping up with all of my favorite and bloggers through Instagram. Today I’m introducing a new series called “Weekly Roundup”. I will be linking articles, sales, and so many other fun things I want to share with my readers. Let me know what you’re interested in and I’ll make sure to add it to my blog.

1. Shopbop Makeover

I was scrolling through a few Instastories and I had major FOMO because of the Shopbop event. I’ve always had a major thing for Shopbop! I love the website layout and how clean all of the photos are.  Shopbop recently gave the brand a makeover and I must say it’s very refreshing.

2. Skincare

Patchology sent me a wonderful package full of fun skin care goodies to try. I love trying new products on my face. Their lip mask and eye gels are amazing. I also came home to a gift from L’Occitane which was super cool. The team sent me bubble bath, hand cream, body oil for the shower and face cream. I think I’m good on skincare for a while.

3. Travel Plans!

I’m heading to Nashville from Thursday-Sunday. It’s a short trip but I’ll make sure to get a lot of stuff done.  I’m excited to try all of the delicious food and see some landmarks. Let me know if there’s anything I should check out.

4. Earl’s Kitchen & Bar in the Prudential Center

Earl’s Kitchen & Bar opened a new location in the Prudential Center and it’s so dreamy. I’ve gone to the Assembly Row location once for brunch and it was delicious so I will be visiting again very soon.

5.Something Navy teams up with Nordstrom!

Arielle is one of my favorite bloggers to follow on Instagram so I was excited to read that she’s teaming up with Nordstrom on a collection. The collection ranges in sizes too so I appreciate that she’s really listening to her followers and what they want.

Overdue beach day – Nordstrom rack

Bathing suit: Nordstrom Rack

Photography: Nick Carter

This is my first time on the beach this summer so it was necessary to take a few pictures of my new one piece bathing suit. I can’t really complain because I had the chance to swim in a pool so I was able to enjoy the water in some way. There’s something about the beach that’s so relaxing. I was raised in Revere, Ma and for those of you who aren’t familiar with the city it’s about 20 minutes outside of Boston and there’s a really nice beach there. My parents and I would always go here to grab Kelly’s Roast Beef and during the summer my cousins and I would go to the carnival they set up every year. I have so many great memories here so I will always cherish this beach.

This Sole East bathing suit is so comfy and purple is my favorite color! This bathing suit isn’t on the website anymore but there are some adorable bikinis left. If you have a tropical vacation planned I think you guys would like their selection. Even though September is in a few days It’s never too late for a beach day right?

6 fall items under $100

Fall clothing is all about simplicity, layers, and bold colors. I love big sweaters and colorful jackets so I put together some fall tops and jackets I’m really into right now. Fall clothing is something you should always invest in. My fall clothes tend to last longer than my summer clothes because they are durable. I still have jackets from a few years ago that are in great shape. All of the items are cute but I’m really into the ModCloth faux leather jacket, the loft jeans, and the pink Boden sweater.

I love wearing my leather jackets with huge scarves. It’s the perfect casual look for any occasion. I have this scarf from Primark I’m obsessed with and it’s so warm and fuzzy. Everyone in Boston seems to feel the same way because I’ve seen so many women wearing it. Which picks do you like? Let me know in the comments below.
