Jewelry fun with BaubleBar

Sweater: Ralph Lauren, Jeans: H&M, Slides: Chinese Laundry (DSW), Earrings: Bauble Bar, Purse: Prada

Photography: Nick Carter

My BaubleBar jewelry came in the mail! I’ve met a lot people who can’t stop raving about the website so of course I picked up some stuff for myself. I bought the Flamenco Drop earrings in Periwinkle and the Celestial Ribbon Choker. I wore my Flamenco Drop earrings to High tea and that was all I needed to dress up my outfit. The right accessories can make your outfit 100% better and the Flamenco Drops are so fun and colorful.  I have my eye on the red Crispin Drops for the summer, they would go perfectly with my rompers and summer outfits.  I wore my Celestial Ribbon Choker a few times and I’m in love with it. I was so late to the choker trend but now I’m fully on board and obsessed.

On another note, I broke out my slides again! These were definitely an impulse purchase from DSW as is everything else I get from there. The brand is Chinese Laundry and they’re very comfortable. I’m still into the slide trend and that’s not stopping for me anytime soon. Before you head out, click the link in my sidebar to check out the website and buy some stuff for yourself. BaubleBar has some really great deals so click the sale link first.

Tea time at the Boston Public Library

Dress: Asos,   Shoes: Asos,   Bag: Prada

Photography: Nick Carter

This past weekend I crossed another thing off my Boston To-Do list, Tea at the Boston Public Library with my boyfriend. The winter tea schedule ends on January 31st and getting a reservation was extremely difficult but lucky for me, I got a spot!  Our reservation was at 12:30 which was the perfect time because we were starving! We had sweets, scones, finger sandwiches and delicious fruity tea. With some prosecco on the side, tea time was everything I hoped for. I think the library has a tea schedule during the summer so keep a lookout for that. I know a few other hotels in Boston also have a tea schedule like the Langham, The Taj, Four Seasons, and the Ritz.

High tea is a cute weekend date idea for you and your significant other. The environment was very relaxed so you don’t need to “dress” up. Overall high tea gets a 10 out of 10 from me! It’s definitely not an every weekend thing but I do want to go back in a few months.  My new Asos dress was perfect for the beautiful weather we had this weekend here in Boston. Whenever it’s above 50 degrees in the winter EVERYONE comes out. We know it’s only a matter of time before the next snowstorm hits. I hope everyone enjoyed the weekend! Thanks for stopping by.

Favorite Pins pt. 6

I love my Pinterest series because I can spend hours looking at ideas and clothes. This set of my Favorite Pins is more of a currently craving board because Spring and Summer will be here before we know it.  Right now I’m really into home decor and transitional clothing. By spring time I want to upgrade my patio and apartment with new summer items. It doesn’t help that I work at a home furnishing company so I’m looking at home decor ALL DAY!  I’m eyeing the following…

My boyfriend tells me I have “expensive taste” so I’ll look into other options for certain home decor items. I’m really in love with that area rug though. The hand woven detail really stands out. On another note,  I’ve seen Loeffler Randall shoes all over the blogs and I’ve fallen in love with the styles and colors. I really like the Tassel Oxfords! I’ll definitely be saving up for these gorgeous shoes. Hopefully I can have them on my feet by spring! Loeffler Randall has a cute selection of flats that go really well with loose flare pants. Looking at colorful Coach saddle bags, BaubleBar Crispin drops, and scalloped bikinis make me want spring/summer weather even more. I’m officially over the winter!!!  Click the links below to check out the pins.

Pom Pom Sweater

Photography: Nick Carter

The story behind this sweater is a short one. The sweater arrived in the mail completely wrong. Only one sleeve had the poms on it so I took it to my cleaners for some alterations. I really like the end result with the two poms on the each sleeve. Poms on sweaters were big in 2016 but I’m bringing  it with me into the New Year.  Also, Happy New Year! This is the time of year we really try to push ourselves to start those new year’s resolutions.

I want to accomplish a lot of personal goals this year. I want to open myself up and meet new people. I can be very shy at times and I’m not sure why. I’m a very outgoing and loud person it’s strange when that just switches off. I also don’t want to worry about what people think so much. Ashley from Brunch on Chestnut had a great post about personal goals and one was to stop comparing her blog to others. I learned that my work isn’t the same as others. We all have goals so I need to focus on mine and stop stressing out.

And finally I need to squeeze in ME time when it’s necessary. I tend to worry so much about others I forget that I need a little TLC too. I plan to schedule more mani/pedis and massages for myself. Thank you for reading. Make sure to subscribe to my blog for new post updates!

Asos Dress & H&M Flats

Dress: Asos, Flats: H&M,  Bag: Marshalls

Photography: Nick Carter

This dress reminds me of the Wall Charades account (by Jennifer Lake) I follow on Instagram. Bloggers submit photos of themselves behind cool backgrounds around the U.S. I fell in love with this dress because of the color and fun design. I don’t own much green and this was the dress I needed to change my mind about the color. My flats are from H&M and they are so dependable. I’m pretty sure I bought these when I was in desperate need of flats and they’re still in great shape.

When I don’t feel like throwing on heels or my boots, my H&M flats alway’s comes to the rescue. When the weather is dreary, I like to keep it bright with this dress. Life news.. I started a new job recently and I’m so happy, excited, over the moon.. All of that! There was a time when I felt like my life was on pause and I wasn’t sure what was going to happen. I’m still young and I have a lot of learning to do but I’m excited to see where this position takes me. What’s new with you guys? Any fun New Year updates?! Comment below and let me know!

J.Crew and Sequins

Photography: Nick Carter

Outfit details: Turtleneck sweater: J.Crew (old)  Sequined skirt , Heels: Asos

I never thought I would say this but I really love this sequined skirt from J.Crew Factory! I wanted to put together a post about this outfit because it’s perfect for a New Years Eve party with friends or family. J.Crew Factory is the place to shop if you like J.Crew stuff but don’t feel like spending a ton of money.

I feel like I’m really getting into the NYE spirit with the sequins. I plan on buying more sequined items when the time is right but for now this skirt will do just fine. I’ve linked the details to this look at the beginning of this post, check it out before you leave. How do you guys like to style sequins during the holiday? Tell me I would love to know! Also, can you believe NYE is in TWO DAYS!!!? This year ended on such a great note and I’m excited to see what 2017 brings.

CapxTalk event

Thank you to Capital One for sponsoring this post

Recently, I had the pleasure of attending a #CapXTalk event at the Capital One Back Bay Café. The panel, which focused on investing and impacting the community for good, united leaders from Harpoon Brewery, The Red Sox Foundation and Capital One to discuss how they’re not only giving back to their community but also, improving lives.

I’ve been using a Capital One savings account for about two years now, so I was excited to see what the Back Bay Café was all about. The Cafés popped up in Boston around two years ago and since then, Capital One has opened five locations across the city. Additionally, they recently announced that they will be expanding to Hingham, Lynnfield, and the Seaport in the coming months.

For those who might be unfamiliar with the Café concept, they provide a space where individuals can recharge their bank accounts, devices and lives while learning new ways to manage their finances, try out new digital and financial tools, use their fee-free ATMs, tap into free Wi-Fi, or simply grab a great cup of coffee. Personally, I always get excited for new innovative approaches when it comes to banking, and I love to see Capital One using innovative digital technology to connect with customers and make the banking experience easier.

One of my favorite new tools is the CashTapp ATM machine, which allows you to use your phone to withdraw cash, no pin or card needed. Additionally, Capital One allows you to manage your accounts by using the Amazon Alexa. Through the Amazon integration, you can ask Alexa to check your account balance and even pay your credit card bill!

I’m a huge advocate for Capital One and would definitely encourage you to check out their Cafés here in Boston. If you’re in the Harvard Square area, you can even book a 1:1 money coaching session at their Harvard Square Café.

Stocking Stuffer Ideas!

Moroccan Magic postMoroccan Magic postMoroccan Magic post

Hi, Everyone! I’m excited about this post because I’m a huge fan of lip balm and I’m always looking for new brands to try. Now that December is here I’m anxiously waiting for Christmas presents and snow! Stocking stuffers are my favorite and this trio kit from Moroccan Magic is perfect for any beauty lover. My favorite scent is the Rose one and it stays on for a while which is perfect during the winter.

If you’re like me and constantly apply lip balm then buy some for yourself instead of putting the trio kit into someone else’s stocking. What do you guys like to buy for stocking stuffers?? It’s so hard to walk into stores and buy cute lotions and candles without buying some for yourself!! 🙁 Let me know where you like to shop and I’ll check it out. Thanks for reading!

Hello Yellow.. Coat

I have found so many great items thrift shopping but so far my  favorite has to be this yellow J.Crew coat I found in New Hampshire. The coat cost $25 dollars and it’s like brand new after I put it in the cleaners. If you shop at J.Crew then you know the coats can cost up to $300.  I’ve never bought a coat this color before and I’m liking it. I definitely stand out on the street too.

The jacket is mostly wool so it’s extremely warm and I love the length too. I wore it for the first time on Thanksgiving day to grab coffee at Dunkin and it was so cozy!  Thrift stores like Buffalo Exchange and Goodwill have so many J.Crew finds so check out those stores before you purchase a jacket full price. I’m definitely a fan of the fun and festive jackets at J.Crew. I also really like the stadium-cloth cocoon coat in spiced orange.  Click the links below to see some more of my favorite jacket picks.

Favorite pins pt. 5 – Getting ready for the holidays!

favorite-pins-5

The holidays are so close I can taste it, Literally! Thanksgiving is next week and Christmas is right around the corner. My two favorite holidays filled with love, food, and decorations. I plan on bringing my Pumpkin Bars to Thanksgiving this year because my mother loved them so much. It’s the perfect treat after dinner. They’re very easy to make and there’s no mess. I’m all for easy clean up and simple recipes during the holidays.

I want to get creative this Christmas so this year I will wrap my gifts in the cutest way (or attempt to). #2 on the list is from Almostmakesperfect.com . I want to recreate this decoration style for my holiday gifts this year. I’m not sure how it’ll turn out since I’m not the best at DIY projects. Number 3 on the list is a little treat I plan on making just for fun. It’s an easy no-bake recipe for Christmas sugar cookie truffle balls.

Number 4 is a cute little treat to bring to the office or a holiday party. The little reindeer are so cute! I never dress up for the holidays but I would totally wear this red Free People sweater. The red is perfect for the holidays and you can still be casual at family parties. Lasty, number 6 is nail art! I wish I could do something like this. My nails would be filled with designs all the time!
