Today’s post is a personal one for me because I do have an issue saving money and spending wisely. I wanted to put together some tips that might help you save money in the future. I realized I was spending money on unnecessary things I didn’t really need like buying lunch every day and the occasional Starbucks latte. So far I’ve brought my own lunch to work every day and I make coffee at home so I’m doing alright. Have you guys ever had to cut yourself off from something? It’s extremely hard but it’s worth it in the end. If you guys have additional money saving tips put them in the comments below. I would love to read them.
1.Stop buying coffee every morning
Instead, make coffee before you leave in the morning or at work. You’ll save so much money! Buying Starbucks or Dunkin Donuts every day can really burn a hole in your pocket.
2. Make your own lunch
This one is hard because the stores surrounding your office or home can be so tempting and delicious. Think about it like this, do you really need to spend $10 on a salad? Yes, Sweetgreen you’re delicious but I need to quit you!
3. Cancel that gym membership you don’t use
I was guilty of this in the past. Who else paid for a membership they didn’t use? I signed up for a community center in my neighborhood that charges a yearly fee. I’m saving so much and using the same workout machines that you’ll find at any gym.
4. Stop ordering out every evening
I love Chinese food and it’s always my go to when I don’t feel like cooking. I really need to fight the urge to order online all the time.
5. Take public transportation
If you happen to be really late for something then yes, a Lyft or Uber is necessary. Living in a city I have full access to the train and bus. A majority of us also have monthly passes so try to cut back on the amount of Lyfts and Ubers you call and you’ll see a drastic change in your bank account.
