Best of 2017 skincare and hair products

Today I’m rounding up all of my favorite beauty products of 2017. It’s been a great year for skincare and I’ve been introduced to some really cool brands so of course, I’m going to share that with you guys. Some of these products are not new but they are in heavy rotation throughout the year and my skin just loves them. What have you guys been using this year? Oils, moisturizers, masks? Let me know in the comments below. I’m so excited to try out some new skincare this year. I follow a ton of beauty vloggers so I’m always looking for inspiration and tips.

1.Glossier

Ever since I started using Glossier my skin has improved so much. The milk jelly cleanser and the balm dotcom in coconut are my favorite products. I had the chance to stop by the showroom in New York and it’s super cute. If you’re looking for a new brand to try this should be it. Also, their customer service is great so they’ll answer any questions you have about the products. I linked both products above.

2. Patchology

I found out about this brand through Instagram and other bloggers who kept posting about it on their page. I reached out to the PR team and asked to try some products of course. This was the best decision because they have some really fun and inexpensive skincare items. I use the 5-minute lip gels a lot before I head out and they are being used more due to the cold weather. I use the night mask every single night after my shower, my face is so soft in the morning.

3. L’Bri

This is another brand that reached out to me so I could try out their products so I was very excited to add some new stuff to my collection. I was gifted some body butter, body wash, lotion, conditioner, and shampoo along with skincare as well. I give the skincare 5 stars. It’s perfect for sensitive skin and everything smells so good. My favorite is the cucumber body wash and the aloe face cleanser. If you reach out to customer service they are very responsive and they’ll even give you some samples to try. I’m very honest with my reviews so I mean it when I say this brand is really really good.

4. L’Occitane

The divine cream from L’Occitane was gifted to me from the PR team and I’m so thankful I was able to try it out. It’s become my go-to daytime moisturizer and it smells amazing! It’s a little pricey so if you’re willing to splurge on yourself I say go ahead and buy it.

5. Garnier whole blends line

Yes, I know this isn’t skincare but my hair just loves this leave in conditioner. A few hair bloggers said this product was great and they have my hair texture so I figured I would give a new product a try. I purchased this at Target but Garnier products are everywhere. I highly suggest trying out this line it’s so good.

Favorite pins Pt. 10 – Holiday Season

Here’s part 10 of my favorite pin series and this is in substitute for my weekly roundup. I created a favorite pins holiday post last year and it was just so colorful and fun that I wanted to do another one. These pins aren’t just for Christmas because you can keep this going until the New Year. Holiday cookies can be a year-round thing and who doesn’t love the fresh smell of pine like in picture 1 and 2. Sugar cookies are my favorite but I’ve never tried them with cream cheese frosting. Georgetown cupcakes adds cream cheese frosting on their cupcakes and it’s phenomenal so I know this will probably be delicious.

In picture 3 the cute brownie reindeer dessert is so cute. Wouldn’t that be the perfect thing to serve at a get together with friends? Plus who doesn’t love brownies?! If you don’t we can’t be friends. Just kidding we can! In picture 4 is the perfect skirt for a party. I would wear it with a bold chunky knit sweater. I would do the same thing with the skirt in picture 5. I just love bold dramatic skirts and red is my favorite color to wear during the holidays. Another fun way to add some drama to the holidays is to wear some sequins like this skirt Julia from Gal Meets Glam is wearing. What are you looking forward to the most this holiday season? I’m excited to spend time with family and eat delicious food on Christmas day. Links to these photos are down below. Happy Holidays everyone!

What I Wore: Yellow Lace Dress

Dress: Marshalls, Shoes: Marshalls

Photography: Nick Carter

My perfect summer weekend outfit includes a lightweight dress, sandals, and simple accessories. Since this heat wave isn’t breaking I’ll keep this dress streak going and post this new lace dress I bought on my birthday.  I wore it for the first time to the garden party at the Isabella Stewart Gardner museum which was the perfect place for it. Third Thursdays is all about live music, drinks, and a chance to view the beautiful art Isabella Stewart Gardner collected. Her history is amazing and if you ever get the chance to visit I’m sure you’ll fall in love.

I also bought these lace up sandals in the clearance section for $13, the brand is Zigi Soho. I linked some similar styles below. I read on Whowhatwear.com that yellow is a hot summer trend right now so I guess I’m already on board.  A few other trends include all white outfits, cat-eye sunglasses, and basket bags. What’s your favorite summer trend right now? Let me know in the comments below?

Favorite Pins Pt.3

Favorite pins1. Fringed denim  2. Plant decor  3. Off the shoulder tops  4.Floral Skirts  5.Elaine Welteroth’s  beauty routine  6.Stripes

May is a few days away so let’s start the new month with pins I’m currently in love with.  From fringed denim to plant decor I have so many new pins on my boards giving me major inspiration for the spring.  I keep seeing fringed denim pants around on different blogs and I want to give the look a try eventually. Fringed jeans could work with off the shoulder tops that are coming back into the fashion world. I get so excited when I see old trends come back into play.  Another thing I want to do this spring is buy some plants to put in my apartment.

The second picture  with the plants is something I want in the corner of my place near my bar stools.  The height difference is a nice touch to the decor. Click the link to find out which plants are easiest to grown inside your home. Next thing I need is a cute floral skirt, it seems appropriate since it’s spring.  I’m looking for the perfect one that  I can wear to work or going out with a plain white tee and heels. Speaking of clothes I’m really into stripes lately.

I found a cute form fitting stripped dress during my trip to Montreal at a local boutique and I’ve worn in four times already.  And to round up my favorite pins this month is Elaine Welteroth on The Coveteur. I loved seeing her beauty routine on The Coveteur. She uses Snapchat to connect with her followers and show them her backseat beauty ritual when she’s running to a meeting or late to an event. She uses RMS beauty concealer which is a great brand. I swear by their coconut oil beauty wipes.

Follow me on Pinterest to see everything I’ll be pinning to my boards this month!

Palm Beach

In the quaint town of Palm Beach, two friends and I took a short but necessary trip.  I never thought of traveling to Palm Beach so when the opportunity came up to go I took full advantage of it. As soon as we landed it was 80 degrees and very humid. A drastic change from the 30 degree weather in Boston. We booked an Airbnb condo just 5 minutes from the beach and all the local bars and restaurants. We immediately put our bags down in the room and dressed for the beach. The first night we decided to grab Italian food at this local restaurant Testa that had the cutest outdoor terrace surrounded by palm trees and decorative outdoor lights.  It felt so good to feel a warm breeze and have my sandals on.

The locals were very kind and everyone was very open to helping us with directions. On the walk home from Testa we found Bee Organics which is a local smoothie and juice place. I went there twice a day from Thursday-Saturday, racking up unnecessary expenses on smoothies and organic oatmeal. On Thursday night we had dinner at Buccan, known for it’s small plates. My favorite thing we ordered had to be the sweet corn ravioli and short rib empanada. After dinner we crossed the bridge and went to a club in West Palm Beach. On our last night we stayed on the beach as long as we could. It was so upsetting to think in less than 24 hours we would be back in the cold. We decided that we should go back to West Palm Beach and have dinner at Rocco’s taco and tequila bar . Before we headed to the airport on Saturday we got one last smoothie and walked to the beach one last time. My time in Palm Beach was short but so sweet. I enjoyed every minute of it.
