I have a hard time relaxing on the weekends and I’m often told I need to just chill out and relax. When I try to unwind I end up doing a lot of random stuff around the house. I think I do all of this to keep my mind going which is the complete opposite of relaxing. When I do sit back and kick my feet up there are a few things I really like to do so I wanted to share that with you guys today. I think you might like these tips and I hope you try some out yourself this weekend. What do some of you do to unwind? I would love to hear some tips so I can add them to my weekend routine. I know a few people who mask every weekend and I wish I had the patience to do that. I want my mask to dry immediately because I really don’t like waiting around. I guess I should work on that, the whole point is to unwind right?
1. Soak in the bath
I have a pretty large bubble bath collection and I haven’t used any of it. I want to take more baths and I’m going to start doing it. Bubble bath scents and the hot water can be so relaxing. Read a magazine while you’re in there too!
Groupon has hour-long massages at some of the best places around Boston. My parents got me a birthday massage at the Intercontinental and it was the best one I’ve had in a very long time. The hotel is gorgeous and the spa is beautiful too. I’ve been checking Groupon constantly for that deal again.
3. Read a book
Sometimes relaxing is as simple as laying on your couch and reading a book. I just started Power You Happy by Lisa Sugar, the founder of the popular website PopSugar. I love inspirational books about peoples careers. It feels good to know some of the people we look up to have gone through similar struggles in their life.
A few people that I follow on Instagram swear by meditation and setting aside a few minutes a day to clear their head. I haven’t tried this yet but if I have a really a stressful day I will try it out. Headspace is a really popular one.
