Weekly Roundup

Welcome back to another weekly roundup everyone! Has everyone finished their Christmas shopping yet? I’m really trying to wrap things up but I know I’ll be scrambling to get everything together like always. I have some really cool articles to share with you today so your Friday can start and end well. Grab a hot cup a coffee and enjoy. I’m heading to New York today with my dad for the weekend. I’m really excited to be back in the city and eat great food and enjoy the sights.

1.The lack of diversity on magazine covers in 2017

I read an article on Fashionista.com about the decline of diversity on magazine covers this year. I have high hopes for 2018 and these publications. Hopefully, they can feature women of all ethnicities… Fingers crossed! Read the article here.

2. Weekend trip to New York

I’m spending the weekend in New York with my dad and I’m pretty excited about it. We have dinner planned at Red Rooster in Harlem and this restaurant is delicious. You need to book reservations a week in advance because it gets so packed but I mean it when I say this place is AMAZING. Click here to check it out. I’ll probably just walk around and enjoy the sights and I’ll find my favorite waffle truck. I’ve been following this truck since my days at St John’s! Find it here.

3. The Influencer Podcast, episode 5

On episode 5 Julie talks to Deanna Ritter who is the Business Development Manager at ShopStyle! It’s a great conversation with some helpful tips if you’re looking to grow your blog through affiliate marketing. Here is a link to her website so you can download the podcast.

4. Weekend sales

Old Navy – Up to 60% off the entire store. Get yourself some cute PJ’s or some slippers. Check out my picks below.

5. Pre-Fall 2018

I’m sitting here on Vogue Runway looking at clothes I can’t afford but a girl can dream. I watched influencers Instagram Stories from the Koché show at Strand Bookstore and it was dreamy. Here are a few of my favorite looks.

Dressing for the holidays

outfits for the holidays

The holiday season has finally arrived.  I love this time of year for so many reasons. One main reason is that I’m able to whip out my best outfits for holiday parties or family events. Instead of running in and out of stores to find the perfect outfit, check your closet and see what you can mix and match. I have so many items I haven’t worn yet so this is the perfect time to take advantage of it. My family always keeps Thanksgiving and Christmas small.  But I do plan on getting dressed this Thanksgiving (shocking). These three looks I created on Polyvore I would actually wear to a holiday party. They all are very casual looks,  but can still be appropriate for a function with the right accessories.
