Best of 2017 skincare and hair products

Today I’m rounding up all of my favorite beauty products of 2017. It’s been a great year for skincare and I’ve been introduced to some really cool brands so of course, I’m going to share that with you guys. Some of these products are not new but they are in heavy rotation throughout the year and my skin just loves them. What have you guys been using this year? Oils, moisturizers, masks? Let me know in the comments below. I’m so excited to try out some new skincare this year. I follow a ton of beauty vloggers so I’m always looking for inspiration and tips.

1.Glossier

Ever since I started using Glossier my skin has improved so much. The milk jelly cleanser and the balm dotcom in coconut are my favorite products. I had the chance to stop by the showroom in New York and it’s super cute. If you’re looking for a new brand to try this should be it. Also, their customer service is great so they’ll answer any questions you have about the products. I linked both products above.

2. Patchology

I found out about this brand through Instagram and other bloggers who kept posting about it on their page. I reached out to the PR team and asked to try some products of course. This was the best decision because they have some really fun and inexpensive skincare items. I use the 5-minute lip gels a lot before I head out and they are being used more due to the cold weather. I use the night mask every single night after my shower, my face is so soft in the morning.

3. L’Bri

This is another brand that reached out to me so I could try out their products so I was very excited to add some new stuff to my collection. I was gifted some body butter, body wash, lotion, conditioner, and shampoo along with skincare as well. I give the skincare 5 stars. It’s perfect for sensitive skin and everything smells so good. My favorite is the cucumber body wash and the aloe face cleanser. If you reach out to customer service they are very responsive and they’ll even give you some samples to try. I’m very honest with my reviews so I mean it when I say this brand is really really good.

4. L’Occitane

The divine cream from L’Occitane was gifted to me from the PR team and I’m so thankful I was able to try it out. It’s become my go-to daytime moisturizer and it smells amazing! It’s a little pricey so if you’re willing to splurge on yourself I say go ahead and buy it.

5. Garnier whole blends line

Yes, I know this isn’t skincare but my hair just loves this leave in conditioner. A few hair bloggers said this product was great and they have my hair texture so I figured I would give a new product a try. I purchased this at Target but Garnier products are everywhere. I highly suggest trying out this line it’s so good.

Holiday gifts for her

*I received these products from the L’Occitane team. All opinions are my own*

The best kind of gifts are beauty gifts am I right? I really enjoy getting new things to try out during this season and brands make really cute holiday packaging for their products. I’m a huge fan of L’Occitane products and I was lucky enough to receive some of their gift sets to feature on my blog. If you’re stuck on what to get someone from Christmas and they love really REALLY great products I suggest you purchase one of these gift sets for someone. Every single product I have tried from L’Occitane has been so different in a good way.

I’m always trying new lotions or face creams and my skin loves it. Everything that I use makes my skin so soft and youthful looking. I’m only 26 but you know what I mean! And the prices are great so it’s worth it. It’s like I’m having a spa day at home every time I open a new product from L’Occitane. Click the links below to check out the new holiday products. If you’re looking for beauty products under 50 and you want a variety I would check out TJ Maxx. The one on Boylston St. in Boston has such a huge selection and all of the small soaps and body wash would make perfect stocking stuffers. Happy Holidays everyone!

weekly roundup

Welcome back to my weekly roundup series. It’s been a while but I have some fun things to share with you guys. First off let’s talk about how we just skipped fall here in Boston and jumped right into winter. I will not be shocked if I wake up to snow on the ground soon. I’m looking forward to Thanksgiving and Christmas I love the holidays! The decor and all of the food, I can’t wait to have a full belly and to be surrounded by family.

1. Beauty updates

-I received some packages from Patchology and a brand called L’Bri. I love skincare so I was so excited to open all of this. Patchology sent over a new sleep mask moisturizer to put on after you get out of the shower. I woke up and my skin was soft and smooth! L’bri reached out to me to send over some products for me to try. Of course, I was open to trying new products and discovering new brands. As soon as I got the package I used the face and body scrub along with the body wash. First impressions were amazing. The face scrub smelled a little off but it made my face and body feel really soft. The body wash smells like cucumber and it was my favorite along with the cucumber body butter. I used it with a loofa they put inside the package so it was a great shower. I haven’t tried the face products yet but I’ll make sure to put it in a review soon.

Step by step skincare routine with Clarisonic

*This post is in collaboration with Clarisonic. All opinions are my own*

Over the past few weeks, I have used the Clarisonic Mia 1 in my skincare routine. I purchased a Clarisonic a few years ago and I was really satisfied with the results and I recommended it to all of my friends. I was really happy to partner with Clarisonic to show my readers my current skincare routine. I’ve used my Clarisonic Mia 1 for a few weeks now and I wanted to share my honest opinion with you guys! The first few days I used the Mia 1 along with a cleanser that came in the package to see how my face would react.

In about two days I stopped using the cleanser that came with the Clarisonic because my skin started to break out. Instead, I used my First Aid Beauty cleanser and followed up with the First Aid Beauty moisturizer. I have very sensitive skin so I should’ve never risked it!  The First Aid Beauty cleanser is gentle enough for me. Clarisonic feels so good to use after a long work day and your skin feels oily and dirty. I was fortunate enough to get two different brush heads to try out. I received the acne brush head and the deep pore cleansing brush head. Her Campus is running a promo that gives you %15 off all devices featured here. Use the code HERCAMPUS to receive this promo. What do you guys use in your skincare routine? I’m always looking for new stuff to try so I would love recommendations!

Getting ready with Harry’s

It can take me over an hour to get ready and I don’t see that changing anytime soon. I wake up, shower, make coffee, do my hair, brush my teeth and all that good stuff. I have a strict morning routine I need to stick to and if I skip one step my whole day is off. One routine that’s very important to me is shaving my legs and finding the right razor is so difficult. I have sensitive skin so scented razors and shave gels make me break out and the cheap bulk pack of razors DO NOT work at all.

I was offered product to try from Harry’s and I was really excited to get a new razor in my life.  Men have the best razors so I knew I wouldn’t regret using this. My legs were so soft after the first use it was unbelievable. I can’t even describe how amazing this razor is. I swear right after I felt my legs and I said WOW out loud in the shower to myself. Right now Harry’s is running a shave club free trial  you just have to cover shipping which is only $3. Seriously ladies!! TRY IT! Also, how cute is my pup Tiger!! He’s so photogenic!

Casual in Mules

MulesMulesMulesMules

This is my normal look on a daily basis. I do wear dresses and skirts a lot at work or on the weekends but this is my everyday look. I like to keep it casual and comfortable since it’s the summer and I really hate being hot, it makes me so grumpy. Normally I wear jeans, a cute top, my Keds or flats to work. I really don’t like wearing my nice clothes to work. And when I say my nice clothes I mean my over the top dresses or heels. I really don’t want to wear 6 inch heels for 8 hours.

I found these mint green mules at the Gilt Warehouse sale for 30 dollars. Mules are the most comfortable shoe for me to walk in and I’m really glad I bought these. I was debating between these shoes and black boots that would be perfect for fall but they didn’t fit around my ankles. I normally wouldn’t buy green shoes but this color is so fun. I had an  obsession with this color green in high school but I never really fed into it.

This outfit was a complete steal. I got these pants at Old Navy for $15 dollars and the shirt at Loft for $19.50. If you’re currently looking for comfy weekend pants ( is that even a thing?) these are the pants you want. They are easy to throw on with a t-shirt and some sandals too. On another note I have a really fun collaboration coming up soon and I’m really excited to share it with you! Follow me on Instagram to keep up.

Winter skin favorites

Winter Skin Favorites

With the weather changing so often, I’m not sure if I can really call this winter. But my skin seems to know what season it is so I picked up some new beauty products to use. During the winter months, my skin is constantly dry.  One of the main things I look for with beauty products is moisturizer and hydration. My skin is a mix between oily and dry (my face is oily and my body is dry).

On my lips, I’m using   Vaseline jelly baby in rosy lips. Not my favorite one from the Vaseline brand but I loved the smell. Next time I’ll stick to the original formula.

I’m using three things on my face. First is the Nude Facial cleanser. This must be applied to dry skin and washed off gently with water. Second is the Soul Sunday fine facial scrub. And lastly, Coconut Oil  – not pictured  (found here). I like using coconut oil after I wash my face because my skin is so smooth after. Also, when I don’t feel like using my cleanser I  clean my face with the coconut oil.  It fights acne, takes off makeup, basically coconut oil is the best!

My body products change daily but as of now I’m using Jergens wet skin moisturizer, Palmers cocoa butter , and coconut oil on my face. Cocoa butter has always worked for me so I’m sticking to it.

I have never been a fan of fringe… EVER. But over the years designers have altered the fringe style and I’ve grown to love what it’s become. The way it moves when you walk makes you feel so sexy and powerful. I would only wear fringe on my skirts and shoes because it just look better to me when it’s on those items.  My favorite piece has to be the Tamara Mellon brown skirt.  She’s the former Chief Creative Officer and Co-Founder of Jimmy Choo so of course I would gravitate towards her clothing.
