All about athleisure

I had the chance to visit Kit & Ace for a fit and design session about a week ago.  Athleisure has appeared in some of my favorite fashion magazines as the go to clothing option for models and I understand why. It’s such a simple and fashionable way to get ready in the morning. Imagine having workout tops and leggings that are stylish enough to wear to work!! The wave dress and the weekend brush hoodie were my favorite pieces from the session. The brush hoodie has a boyfriend fit and I’m really into the loose fit trend right now. What do you guys think of the wave dress? I might make this my go to summer weekend look! Loft Prints

Loft shorts

These shorts from Loft were a hit the first time I wore them. Throughout the day people complimented me on the print and it made me love my purchase even more.  My boyfriend spotted them at the Loft in Chicago while I was trying clothes on.  Along with the shorts I bought the peach dress  and a  black cardigan. Prints are fun to style but I like to keep it simple sometimes so I wore this Old Navy boyfriend shirt with the shorts.

I have very long legs for my height so when I’m wearing shorts they can look very “short” on me. These were the perfect length and cut which made them appropriate for work. Also, this style has a hint of purple in them which is my favorite color.  I didn’t see this particular style on the website but there’s a variety of different prints to choose from. How do you like to style your printed shorts? Check out my Instagram for some inspiration.

Pretty in peach

My weekend in Chicago was amazing! The weather during the first few days was really bad. Fog and rain lasted throughout the day and it cleared up at night but it was still chilly. The last two days the weather was warm and the skies were clear. Day 1 and 2 we had deep dish pizza for dinner from Gino’s East.  I would eat it every night if it wasn’t so heavy. The crust was so buttery and crunchy and the cheese was perfectly distributed throughout the whole pie. I can go on forever about the food but I’m putting together a Chicago to-do list soon.

On our way to downtown Chicago I stopped by Loft and saw this peach colored dress. It’s perfect for work (and brunch). The color is new to me but I needed to buy it. I think I’ll wear dresses a lot this summer so I can fully embrace the warm weather. I’ve started to gravitate towards workwear these past few months starting with my shopping spree on asos.com, I bought 4 dresses on a whim. Loft’s clothing is versatile and I think women of any age can find something they like there.

Countdown to Spring

Spring is so close I can feel it. Counting down the days until I can finally put away my winter clothes for a few months. I can’t wait to feel the spring breeze again and enjoy doing things outside without being cold. I should be used to the weather changing constantly, but I still find a reason to complain when I see snow. This past weekend was so beautiful I took full advantage of the weather. I walked around the city and sat in the park with my bubble tea. Everyone was out which was sort of refreshing to see. Springtime in Boston is so great because everyone is out of hibernation and there’s tons of stuff to do. This lightweight Zara jacket is going to be my new favorite in the spring. It was also the last one on the rack and I’m so excited I got it! The material stretches making it easy to fit with my sweaters. Buy the jacket here .

There’s something about pleated skirts

I just purchased two skirts from Asos last night and I’m so excited for them to come in the mail. Long and short pleated skirts for the spring/summer time. I don’t know if anyone else does this but I try to buy things that match or work well with items I already have. I also purchased this blue cami dress that I want to wear when I go to Paris this summer. I’m still mad at Asos for taking away free shipping but I’m a loyal customer so I’ll deal with it. My items are below!
